The Quality Chop House (re)opened in 2012, having been a restaurant on Farringdon Road since it was built in 1869. Despite our heritage (and our Grade-II listed Victorian decor) we aim to offer modern, innovative cooking based around the finest ingredients the British Isles provide. And because of our heritage, a chop (or a steak or something similar) is always on offer…

We have 2 dining rooms, one with larger booths for bigger groups and one with smaller and more intimate tables. Upstairs is a private room for up to 16 guests.

We focus just as much on our wine list as our menu – aiming to provide a range of new and interesting bottles from the Old World as well as a few esoteric single bottles from dusty, old cellars as well.

We are open for lunch every day and dinner Monday to Saturday.

Private Room

For tastings, feastings and meetings. This room is a very worthy venue for your gathering.

Our private room seats parties of anything from 8 to 16 people. We offer a set menu for the whole table and we can cater to all dietary requirements. The room is all yours for the afternoon or the evening and you will have a dedicated member of our team looking after you.

We offer 2 different seasonal set menu options:

£49 set menu: a selection of 4 shared snacks and starters, a main course of your choice for the whole party to share, and a dessert. Please see example here.

A £69 feasting menu: featuring the best ingredients the season has to offer, it includes a selection of 5 shared snacks and starters, a plated first course, a main course of your choice for the whole party to share, and a dessert.  Please see example here.

At lunchtime we can also offer a reduced a la carte menu to include 3 starter options (1 vegetarian, 1 fish, and 1 meat option), 3 main course options (1 vegetarian, 1 fish, and 1 meat option), along with 2 desserts and 1 cheese course.  Unfortunaely we cannot offer this in the evenings.

For the month of December, we offer a seasonal set menu and feasting menu in the Private Room. Unfortunately we are not able to offer the reduced a la carte menu in December.

If your preferred date is not available, do give us a call, as there may be some possibility of seating you in another part of the restaurant. Reservations for the private room are taken here online below or call Miranda on 0207 183 5675.

We kindly request at least 72 hours notice for cancellations (and 1 week in December). In the unlikely event of less notice, we will regrettably request payment for the full menu price of the event.

In order to secure the booking we will require some credit card details. We will not charge your credit card unless the booking is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice in which case a charge of 50% of the minimum spend will apply. There also may be a charge applicable if the party size varies less than 48 hours before the event.
