The Quality Chop House (re)opened in 2012, having been a restaurant on Farringdon Road since it was built in 1869. Despite our heritage (and our Grade-II listed Victorian decor) we aim to offer modern, innovative cooking based around the finest ingredients the British Isles provide. And because of our heritage, a chop (or a steak or something similar) is always on offer…
We have 2 rooms: the Dining Room with larger booths for bigger groups; and the Bar Room with smaller and more intimate tables. Upstairs is a private room for up to 16 guests.
We focus just as much on our wine list as our menu – aiming to provide a range of new and interesting bottles from the New World as well as a few esoteric single bottles from dusty, old cellars as well.
We are open for lunch every day and dinner Monday to Saturday.

For larger parties we have a private room that can accommodate up to 16 guests. Please see the ‘Private Room’ page for more details, and to book.
For parties of 5 -8 guests, we kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or for significant changes to the number of guests. For parties of 9 guests or more, we kindly request 1 weeks’ notice for cancellations or for significant changes to the number of guests. In the unlikely event of less notice, we will regrettably request a cancellation fee of £25 per person.
Our private room seats parties from 8 to 16 people. The room is all yours for the afternoon or the evening and you will have a dedicated member of our team looking after you.

On Sundays we offer either a £49 Set Menu that focuses on a traditional Sunday roast, or our £69 QCH Classics Menu

Reservations for the private room are taken here online only.
We require a valid credit card number in order to secure your reservation. This data is held using a fully encrypted 3rd party service.
We kindly request at least 2 weeks notice for cancellations or for significant changes to the number of guests. In the unlikely event of less notice, we will regrettably request a cancellation fee of £25 per person. If a booking is cancelled on the day, we will regrettably request the full menu cost per person.
If you find the room is already booked, please do email [email protected] and we will be straight back in touch if there is a cancellation or we may well be able to seat your party downstairs in the main restaurant.
